Top 10 Los Angeles Beach Wedding Venues

One of the best things we love about Los Angeles and So-Cal is our beaches and the ocean views. The ocean cleans our souls and recharges the ions in our body. It’s one of the reasons I keep going out to get pummeled by the waves trying to surf a 3 foot swell, (I suck), because I love how I feel at the end of the day. Getting married on the beach and having your reception near the ocean seems like a no-brainer for a fresh start to your life. So if your newly engaged and looking for a Los Angeles Wedding venue near or on the beach here are 10 of my favorites. (Alphabetical Order)

We have handled many weddings and sometimes just the lighting; (WHICH YOU WILL NEED TO BUDGET IN), and the vibe is always awesome! Weddings, Receptions, and Special Events are contracted through the California State Parks. The special event site coordinator handles the reservations, contracts, and information.

This a super cool, super funky space with lots of character for parties up to 150 people. The staff will help you with those permits and anything else you need to pull this off.  The Beach House offers both historic Hollywood glamour and modern coastal California style to set the scene for your big day.

This 1920’s Mediterranean-style mansion is amazing with it’s palm trees and gardens, and they have a variety of indoor and outdoor locations on the property for your event. Cypress Sea Cove is a two acre bluff top Victorian estate with panoramic ocean views, private beach frontage, and expansive lawn and gardens that you can spread across for your reception. Add on our Los Angeles Wedding DJ Silent Zone Package and party til midnight :). If this view is good enough for one of richest men in the US living next door, it will be perfect for your big day. The Malibu West Beach Club is a just about perfect for a wedding reception. Get married on the balcony overlooking the beach or get married right on the beach, standing in the sand and then move inside for your reception. It can still be a little hot at the beach until the sun goes down, but the air conditioned club is wonderfully comfortable and stylish. Easy to get to from all areas of So Cal. Many other Los Angeles wedding DJs, including ourselves love working with the chill staff at this location.

The Mandalay Beach Resort has rooms, pools, cafes, and a pretty little city called Ventura surrounding it. By all accounts it’s a one stop shop for your reception and ceremony needs. Technically it’s only about an hour from Los Angeles,  and still close enough for locals to head back home. Personally I would stick around and make a mini vacation out of it, if you do stop by my buddy’s bake shop, Sticky Fingers for some baked goods.

High up in the Malibu hills, Stone Manor is not really on the beach, but the estate overlooks a vast swath of the Pacific, stretching from Catalina to Santa Monica Bay. And while the panoramic vista is definitely something to write home about, the house and grounds are equally grand. I did one event at this location a few years ago, and it still lingers in my mind, which can’t be said about the countless wedding factory venues I’ve worked at but quickly forget.

Shutters on the Beach in Santa Monica is one of those places that seems to slip your mind, but when you walk into the hotel your always wonder how did I ever forget about this place. They have a couple of event rooms that overlook the ocean and you can have a ceremony with the Pacific as your backdrop. Out of every venue on this list, you will not top the staff at this location for it’s service and attention to detail, it is a gem and super close to everything.

Los Angeles Beach Venue #10 – Sunset Restaurant Malibu

We have handled a bunch of events at the Sunset Restaurant and it’s the only location where your actually on the beach super close to the water, with waves breaking behind you as you say “I Do”. Your Los Angeles wedding DJ does need to have a generator or battery powered speaker system (we have both). This provides amplified music and a microphone for the minister, (those waves are loud). Then walk back across to the restaurant for a very fun intimate wedding  reception experience, with some of the most capable staff members I’ve ever worked with.
