LA Wedding DJ

Al Darroch “DJ Alvis"

The best part of a truly good dj, and a truly good DJ set, is the DJ’s ability to transition among the many styles and genres available, weaving a narrative between all musical genres in all decades. L.A.’s own DJ Alvis’, decades-long career as a Club and Special Event DJ, has worked to connect the dots between hip-hop, house, soul, funk, alternative rock, disco, classic rock, grunge, rap and drunken outlaw country. You don’t know what you’re worth until you rock and audience that has access to everything, like L.A. crowds. – Dj Timbo

As an Air Force kid, I was born in Texas, but lived all over the U.S. and Europe. I was really into music as a kid, and it was probably a big mystery to my Neil Diamond listening parents why their 10 year old was bringing home the Ohio Players and cranking up “Fire”. In college at Utah State, as a fluke I started spinning at some of the Frat Parties and when I became a Pike, I took over the music duties and moved our frat parties from the gutter to legendary status. After graduating with a BFA in Theater, I came to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career.

Waiting tables was getting annoying, so I paid the bills by working at many of the L.A. Clubs, earning my DJ wings before dreaming up the idea of Tasty Sounds Entertainment.

My wife Diane and our daughter Kelly Marie are my biggest joys, and biggest inspiration. Of course I love music and concerts, but my big hobbies are Skiing (I haven’t missed a ski season since I was 12), American football, (go Chargers) and Martial Arts, (currently holding an 8th degree black belt in Kung Fu San Soo). But my longest hobby… I’ve been a comic collector since the age of 8 and I’m loving the age of the Marvel/DC Movie.
