Schneider & Kinsbursky Mitzvah

So the awesome married team of Ron Levy Photography (949-280-6001) just sent us some brilliant pictures from the B’nai Mitzvah we handled last March at the Hyatt Regency in Newport. Tasty Sounds handled the entertainment and the lighting production. It was a great team effort on everyone’s part including Michelle Capanelli from the Hyatt, Ron & Gabrielle Levy, Shawna Yamamoto of Yamamoto Design and Melinda Gilchrist of Gilchrist Video. Both families couldn’t have been any cooler to work for, and the girls and all their friends where really delightful. This was our second event for Nancy & Paul Schneider and it was great seeing Nick get to kick back without any pressures on him. The Tasty Team was myself (DJ Alvis), DJ Brian, and Dancers Billy & Jen who got the crowd rocking, and our Creative Lighting Tech George brought it all home.

A Web Celebs Sweet Video

Sometimes I come across something so creative I just have to step back and breathe. Can you imagine coming home after working your hard job and getting back to work on your video project that is this complicated. Kina Grannis, 26 did just that with this video using 288,000 jelly beans and a concept idea by director Greg Jardin. Production was very intense for each of the 2,460 individual frames, and a crew had to build a jelly bean portrait out of thousands of jelly beans which Grannis would then lay down on a piece of glass mounted over the jelly beans. The topper to this video is that the song is really great, and I will definitely add it to the Tasty Sounds play-lists.

Shaina Rosenberg’s Bat Mitzvah at Center Club

This is our second time working for the Rosenberg family, and once again it was a great experience. Kevin & Julie are the perfect parents who know what they want and step back and let you deliver it. We had done Josh’s party in 2008 and it was also at the Center Club in Costa Mesa, and this time for Shaina it was a jungle club theme. I had DJ Brian with me as well as my Two best dancers Billy & Jen who always bring their A game to every event. Our ultra cool Black Light package was added on as well as some of our club lighting, which as you can tell in the video really gives this great room an extra pump. Enjoy the video and listen for those girls singing Katy Perry at the top of their lungs, YOW!

OC Bat Mitzvah DJ, In Irvine At Dave & Busters with Orange County DJ Alvis!

We are super lucky to have such great families that book us for all their events, and Lisa & Rob Rutkowski are no exception. We (DJ Alvis & DJ Brian) handled Benjamin’s Bar Mitzvah a few years ago and now it was time for the infectious energy bomb Annie! They had Ben’s party at Dave & Busters the first time and because it was such a good vibe they decided why mess with a good thing (same thing about us) and they had it there again. Shannon McNally, is the operation manager at Dave & Busters, and if your looking for a unique place without a lot of hassles you should give her a call. A super cool person, (and I run into few special ones as an LA DJ).

Annie is part of the Theater/Dance crowd; yes crazy and an Orange County DJ’s Dream crowd to perform for. When you watch the video link below, you will see that her and her friends don’t need much encouragement, and when it was time for the Harlem Shake…well just watch. Lastly many thanks to Lisa’s (Mom) over the top, but super sweet Tasty Sounds creative balloon shout out with her friend, it was by far the best of the year. Mazel Tov to the whole Rutkowski family!

Ben Dynes Bar Mitzvah @ UCI Club

Yet another successful event at the UCI Club in Irvine, with the amazing Cindy Lee heading the venue. This time it was for Ben Dynes Kung Fu Mitzvah on August 6, 2011. This was a great party. Brian took the front man position, while I spun on the decks. When we started out with our follow-along dance, there was not one person sitting. Everybody was participating and having a fun time. That’s how we like to start all of our parties. The Minieri family were great to work for, along with all their family and friends who attended. We even came up with a mod on our DUEL game Karate Kid style. Enjoy our video with the Tasty tune Let’s Dance & Stuff (David Bowie & Deadmau5).

4 Harlem Shake Videos

Yes I know the Harlem Shake craze is weird, (and a huge waste of time if your looking at them on youtube)  and many of you don’t understand it, but anytime I can get all crazy then I’m all the way in. The first one is for my Daughter Kelly’s elementary school Calahan, they had a jog-o-thon that I volunteer for and I talked them into doing it. The second video is for a great family (Hamontree) in Newport who had a 8 year old birthday party. I’m not sure the kids understood what I wanted them to do, but they seem crazy and Jen my dancer and I had fun. The next one is St. Eupharasia Catholic School in Granada Hills, and I was handling another Jog-o-thon. What was great about this one is the principal Mrs. Blair helped start things off, fun school, fun parents, and great teachers. Lastly we handled Maia Yosef’s Bat Mitzvah and of course we had to do the Harlem Shake. It’s a little like where’s Waldo but instead it’s wheres DJ Alvis?
